The highlight in fall: almond butter with pumpkin spice

Autumn is just around the corner and with it, one of the most popular spices of all is taking our hearts by storm: pumpkin spice. We have come to love it in coffee and cakes, but pumpkin spice can do so much more. So we've come up with a very special combination that brings together a KoRo bestseller with the star spice of autumn. Simply melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

The highlight in fall: almond butter with pumpkin spice

Pumpkin spice: spice made from or for pumpkin?

The so-called "pumpkin spice" consists of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, allspice and cardamom. Oops, but why is pumpkin in the name, is it all just a great marketing strategy? The spice blend was given this name because it harmonizes so well with the bright orange autumn vegetable - a real dream team! You can see for yourself and try our pumpkin spice. But first, we have a little spice deep-dive for you: the individual components of this aromatic combination originally come from East Asia and were brought to Europe by the Dutch East India Company during colonialism. In the Netherlands, they were used to create various other spice blends in addition to pumpkin spice, which you can still try today, such as speculoos spice. Pumpkin spice was first mentioned in 1796 in the first American cookbook in a pumpkin pie recipe.

Almonds with added value

Due to their sweet taste, almonds have become an indispensable part of many people's breakfasts or snacks. And that's a good thing, because the small kernels can do much more than just taste good and give your muesli that certain bite. Did you know that almonds are 50% fat? But don't panic, because we need fat to absorb fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin A, for example, whose precursor beta-carotene is found in pumpkin. We must have thought right! In addition, it is mainly monounsaturated fatty acids that have an influence on LDL cholesterol levels. LDL cholesterol levels that are too high can have a negative effect on our blood vessels. However, as the fat in almonds is linked to HDL cholesterol, you can continue to eat them.

At 13 g per 100 g, our premium almond kernels have a high fiber content. Dietary fiber is linked to our feeling of satiety. After a high-fiber breakfast with a tablespoon of almond kernels, you can start the day feeling full and concentrate fully on your to-do list.

Almond butter meets pumpkin spice

During one of our daily KoRo snack afternoons in the office, we sprinkled a little of the delicious pumpkin spice on our favorite nut butter for fun and then had to be careful that our colleagues didn't snatch the spoons out of each other's hands. Because the combination is unbeatably aromatic: the sweet and creamy brown almond paste meets spicy pumpkin spice, a true autumn symphony that Joseph Haydn could not have put to music any better. You might be thinking that we at KoRo are conceited. No, don't worry, we're just very confident in our own creations. That's why we regularly introduce you to our favorites here, which, as in the case of our Pumpkin Spice Almond Butter, sometimes disappear into the crowd alongside their well-known siblings, Cashew Nut Butter, Peanut Butter or our Date Hazelnut Cream. Chris and Liam Hemsworth are great actors, but so is their brother Luke! But many people haven't heard of him yet. And so it is with our almond butter with pumpkin spice. It's also super versatile and can be spooned on its own or stirred into porridge on a chilly fall morning. But one thing is clear: cozy evenings on cold days invite you to make the most famous autumn drink of all: Pumpkin Spice Latte (*singing angel choirs enter*). Of course, we don't want to deprive you of this recipe and have added a little twist to the classic. You've already guessed it: it's our delicious almond butter with pumpkin spice! And because we're not stingy with good things, we also have a second dish ready for you: a pumpkin cake with a plant-based pumpkin cream frosting! So what are you waiting for? Grab our almond butter with pumpkin spice and try it out!
