Great alternative to crisps
Our organic nibbles are made from only 4 ingredients: green peas, sunflower oil, rice and sea salt - that's it. Apart from the salt, the ingredients are 100% organic. No preservatives, artificial colouring or additives are used. Deliciously crispy, salty and with that pea flavour, the pea puffs are a real delight. And although we use a little oil, the puffs are not oily or greasy in the slightest. What does all this mean? Our pea puffs are a great alternative to conventional crisps. They are also spectacular when dunked in hummus, try them out!
Protein rich snack: our pea puffs
If we listed all the advantages of our puffs here, we would be here until tomorrow. We'll try to keep it short: first up, the high fibre (8.5g /100g) and protein (21g /100g) contents. They are gluten-free and vegan, so that even gluten intolerant people can enjoy the crunchy experience. Lastly, our pea puffs are made without any added sugars, meaning they have a low sugar content (1.1g /100g). Crazy how many nutrients can be in a banana shaped pea puff!

Production
Erbsen (lat. pisum sativum) sind eine der ältesten Kulturpflanzen und der Klassiker schlechthin im Gemüsebeet. Du kannst die eiweißreichen Hülsenfrüchte aber nicht nur anbauen, sondern sie auch vielseitig in der Küche zubereiten. Für unsere Erbsenflips mit Meersalz werden die italienischen Erbsenpflanzen erst einmal geerntet und kommen dann in die Produktion für die Weiterverarbeitung.
Bevor es so richtig ans Eingemachte geht, müssen die getrockneten grünen Erbsen zuerst gut vermahlen werden. Das Ergebnis ist eine grießartige Konsistenz, außerdem werden sie mit etwas Salz und Wasser vermengt. Dann geht es auch schon in Richtung der nächsten Maschine, dem Extruder.
Die trockene Masse kommt jetzt in einen riesigen Trichter und wird vor der Verarbeitung im sogenannten Extruder in die richtige Menge dosiert. Mit 120 Grad Celsius und viel Druck werden die Erbsen dann durch die Maschine hindurchgepresst. Was vorne als Erbsengrieß hereingeht, kommt hinten als Flip wieder heraus: Am Ende des Extruders “poppen” die Erbsen wortwörtlich in gepuffter Form heraus und sehen schon aus wie unsere leckeren Erbsenflips.
Die Form steht, jetzt fehlt nur noch der richtige Geschmack. Für unsere Erbsenflips bedeutet das jetzt eine Salzdusche! Es geht also direkt in den Gewürztunnel, wo sie erst hauchdünn mit Sonnenblumenöl bespritzt werden, damit das im Anschluss verwendete Salz schön haften bleibt.
Und fertig ist die Erbsenknabberei! Große Flips, perfekt mit Meersalz gewürzt, warten nur darauf von Dir verkostet zu werden. Deswegen geht es jetzt schnell zur Abfüllanlage, wo sie in Tüten abgepackt und etikettiert werden. Anschließend geht es auch schon los auf die Reise in unser Berliner Lager und schlussendlich zu Dir. Erbse gut, alles gut!
