Buy now: Pumpkin seed butter 500g
You think puree is for toddlers and babies? And pumpkin seeds are bird food anyway? Then it's time to introduce you to our pumpkin seed butter. An intense flavour of roasted pumpkin seeds with a sweet-tart aroma, mixed into the creamiest temptation since nut butters. Convinced? Very good, because we are too!
Protein bomb with roasted pumpkin seeds!
We all know - tastes can be subjective - in the end it's the inner values that count. And that's where our pumpkin seed butter turns out to be a real goldmine! It has a high fibre content (14 g/100 g) and a protein content of no less than 21 % - and all that without any oils or additives.
Do you want to know our secret recipe for the unique, aromatic seedy taste and the heavenly smell of freshly roasted pumpkin seeds? For our pumpkin seed butter, the fresh seeds are gently dried and mechanically ground after roasting. In the process, the nut fat escapes and the mass becomes deliciously creamy. Simply ingenious!
Versatile use of pumpkin seed butter
Just like the vast majority of our nut butters, our pumpkin seed butter scores points for versatility: Due to its slightly tart flavour, the puree made from roasted pumpkin seeds is perfect for savoury dishes - whether in sauces, dips and dressings, in salads or as a vegan spread for bread. Our pumpkin seed butter is also great on pasta (it is a worthy pesto substitute for a quick lunch). Sweet dishes also benefit from our creamy pumpkin seed creation: add a spoonful on your porridge, smoothie bowl, mueslis and yogurts! Even apart from the versatility and delicious taste, the dark green cream looks really professional on a plate! On a scale from 1 to 10, our pumpkin seed butter makes any dish — both visually and tastefully — into a 12!

Climate impact
At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. We are now passing this information on to you so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and keep an eye on your personal carbon footprint. We also use these valuable findings ourselves, to try to make our supply chains even smarter in the future and monitor our CO2 footprint.
CO₂ emissions by product
To make the work of our sustainability team easier, we have teamed up with the company Cozero. They support us with their decarbonisation software to calculate the CO2 emissions of our products. Our products go through a lot before they make their way into your pantry or snack bowl, so there is a lot to take into consideration: production, packaging, and logistics – to name just the big steps.

CO₂ emission per product in comparison
Would you like to find out how well your favourite snack stacks up against other products in terms of carbon footprint? Say no more! To create comparability, we calculated the CO₂ emissions per 1 kg of our products and compared them with other products that end up on many people's plates every day, such as cheese, tofu, and many more. We also included coffee as a drink for comparison. So no matter if it is your favourite snack or your go-to kitchen product, you are now able to see exactly how it performs in our “CO₂ per kg of product” ranking.
Comparison of CO₂ emissions per product in kg
Disclaimer: Different methods (comparison products) - The CO2 emissions of the non-KoRo products come from a different data source. Therefore, there may be differences between their evaluation method and the evaluation of KoRo products.

Why do some jars make a popping sound when opened and others do not?
You bought a nut puree in a jar and wonder why there was no popping sound when you first unscrewed it? Don't worry, it's not because the product was already opened. Why some jars "pop" when opened and others don't, we explain here.
Eating meatless – all facts at a glance
