What are energy balls?
Energy balls, also known as bliss balls, are small raw food balls that consist mainly of dates and nuts. They are often refined with cocoa, dried fruit and nut butter and, thanks to their nutrient-rich ingredients, have a high energy density – so these little energy balls can save you from an afternoon energy low. They taste wonderfully sweet without the addition of refined sugar.
Is there a difference between energy balls and bliss balls?
Energy balls and bliss balls actually mean the same thing. There are now countless names for these small but delicious energy balls: they are also often called power balls or raw bites. But they all refer to these small, delicious date balls!
Do energy balls count as raw food?
Yes, our energy balls count as raw food, because the ingredients used are purely plant-based, are only ‘processed’ in the blender and are not heated or anything like that.
What are energy balls made of?
Our energy balls are mostly made of dates. Dates ensure that the energy balls stick together and give them a pleasant sweetness. Depending on the flavour, we then refine the energy balls with ingredients such as peanut butter and cocoa powder.
Do your energy balls contain oats?
Yes, for some varieties, in addition to dates, we use fine oats, such as in our cocoa & raspberry or salted hazelnut flavours.
Are the energy balls vegan?
Oh yes! We want everyone to be able to enjoy our favourite bliss balls, so we avoid any animal additives. You can also find a wide range of our plant-based products in our vegan category.
Are energy balls gluten-free?
Some of our energy balls are naturally gluten-free. However, during production, there may be unknowing cross-contamination with gluten-containing grains, which is why we do not label them as gluten-free. You can find all the ingredients and allergens in our Energy Balls on the respective product page.
How long do energy balls keep for?
It is important to store energy balls correctly in a cool, dark place to ensure a long shelf life. They will keep for at least 12 months in their original packaging. You can also find the exact best-before date on your packaging.
Do you also have energy balls without nuts in your range?
Unfortunately, we have to disappoint you, our energy balls usually contain nuts or nut butters and therefore cannot be consumed by people with a nut allergy.
Can I make energy balls myself?
Of course! In our recipe tool, we have, among other things, an energy ball recipe with coconut that you can customise with dried fruit and nuts of your choice.
